The study aimed to develop a digital kilowatt-hour meter that shows the amount of daily and monthly consumption of energy. This device would guide the consumers on how to budget their energy consumption and prepare for their upcoming electric bill.
Results revealed that putting a price indicator in every kilowatt-hour meter will help the consumers budget their energy consumption. Knowing the cost of their energy consumption, consumers will learn to limit and control the use of their electricity. The study also included a keypad for entering the price per kilowatt in case of price increase or roll back, LCD to display results and view previous readings for the past four days, and a real time clock for data recovering during power interruptions.
