This study aimed to minimize in the most effective and economical way the frequent damage on line cards at the PLDT cabinet. The researchers proposed three alternative solutions: implementing temperature-controlled fans, installation of ground rods for every two utility poles, and replacement of cover seals on demarcation points from rubber to cork. The primary causes of damage on line cards were extreme temperature, foreign voltages, and weather conditions. With the temperature-controlled fan, the temperature in the AG cabinet will decrease and the power consumption will be lessened, thus, extending the lifespan of the equipment. On the other hand, implementing good grounding can prevent harm to the equipment since it can dissipate the foreign voltages to the ground instead of to the equipment. Weather conditions can also damage the line cards. Cork is a cheap but good material. Replacing the rubber seal on demarcations to cork seal can lessen the damage on the line cards. Among the three alternative solutions, implementing better grounding was seen as the most reliable and economical.
