A widespread guerrilla movement operated in the Philippines after the fall of Bataan and Corregidor in 1942 and the Japanese Military Administration took over governance of the Philippines. This paper will present the strategies and operations of the various guerrilla groups which operated in Laguna during World War II, using a rich collection of available manuscript and published sources and oral history with the remaining survivors of the guerrilla groups which operated in Laguna. The strong guerrilla resistance was unique in the areas which came under Japanese military rule during the war, which made the Japanese occupation a brutal experience for many Filipinos.
