The Catholic Identity of Selected PaDSS Schools: Basis for a Comprehensive Christian Living Education Curriculum

Christopher L. Morales

Abstract:

This is a study on the Christian Living Education curriculum of selected schools belonging to the Pasig Diocesan Schools System (PaDDS) as a measure of the school’s foundational Catholicity. In particular, it reviewed the CLE Curriculum, programs, and services of the said schools through their graduating students and proposed a comprehensive Christian Living Education curriculum for the respondent schools. While the schools may enjoy the perception of quality standards of education, they are not seen to live out the quality of life after school. Homogeneous subsets in the said test always indicated the same grouping for the two big schools, noting a very similar state of Catholicity for the said schools. Based on the findings and conclusions, the following recommendations are offered: the stress of the proposed curriculum is to make students aware of and appreciate the Holy Bible. The curriculum is proposed with an aim of presenting a systematic approach to teach the Holy Bible to the students.
