Instructional Modalities Awareness among Teachers of Saint Michael College of Caraga

Abstract:

Awareness of modern modalities is an essential part of quality education. Teachers are challenged to use new teaching strategies to accommodate millennial learners. This research aims to identify the level of awareness of the various instructional modalities and identify the teaching practices and problems encountered in the implementation process among teachers at Saint Michael College of Caraga. A descriptive-correlational research design was employed to identify instructional modalities awareness and determine the teaching practices and challenges in the implementation process. Based on the findings, it was found that teachers were aware of the different instructional modalities. However, gender and years in the service of teaching affect the level of instructional modalities awareness. The result supported by the Psychoanalytic theory of Sigmund Freud, were unconscious mind, conscious mind, and the subconscious is an essential factor for the awareness. It was recommended that the administration should provide additional computer resources (servers, internet speed, and storage space) and develop a technology-based centralized resource center.
