Employability of Forestry Graduates of The Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology

Abstract:

The employability of graduates is one of the actions taken by advanced education establishments to guarantee that the nature of the training they give is adequate to address the issues of society. The objective of this study was to trace the employment profile of the graduates after they obtained their BS Forestry degree at the Abra State Institute of Sciences and Technology. The study used the descriptive method of research where the researcher-structured questionnaire was used to gather primary data needed. The majority of the graduates are 23- 27 (85.96%) years old; males are 41 or 71.93 %, and 50 or 87.72 % are still single. There are 32 (56.14 %) graduates who are currently employed at the time of the study, 24.56 % of the employed graduates are working in a government agency, 53% have a monthly income of 15,000-20,000 pesos. The overall mean for the program indicated by faculty, facility, and the course is 3.85, which means adequate. For faculty, the weighted mean is 4.05, which means adequate. For a facility, the weighted mean is 3.30, which means moderately adequate, and for a course, the weighted mean is 4.22, which means adequate. e number of employed BS forestry graduates of SY 2014-2020 is higher than the unemployed ones. Faculty members of the Forestry department should continue to provide quality education to on-going Forestry students.
