Reasons For Enrolling in Au Florentino Cayco Memorial School of Graduate Studies-Education & Nursing

Abstract:

This is a descriptive-survey action research. It made use of a researcher prepared and validated questionnaire as the main source of data. This research has its end in view of identifying sources of information by which graduate students learned to know of the Arellano University Florentino Cayco Memorial School of Graduate Studies and determine their reasons for enrolling. The study has involved 103 graduate students from MAEd, MAN and Ed.D. programs .The data gathered were treated using the simple frequency count, percentage and weighted mean. Findings of the study reveal that the sources of students information about FCMSGS are from those who knew of the school, from friends who are studying or have studied in this institution and through ads and information that Arellano University has placed or published on internet and print media. The students’ primary reason for enrolling at FCMSGS was that of the faculty’s vast professional and work experiences in their field of specialization that they share; their being considerate, approachable and of their much concern on the professional growth of the students.</p> <p style="text-align:justify">With all the sources of information and reasons for enrolling at FCMSGS surfaced by the students, more innovative marketing strategies were conceived and planned for implementation. The FCMSGS administration looks forward that the enrolment shall have increased come school year 2011-2012.
