INTERNAL STAKEHOLDERS’ ASSESSMENT OF USEFULNESS AND EASE OF USE OF A PROPRIETARY LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM FOR ONLINE LEARNING, TEACHING, AND SUPERVISION

Abstract:

Alternative Hybrid Education and Asynchronous Distance Learning (AHEAD Learning) is San Pablo College’s distinctive Instructional Model in accordance with government restrictions on holding of classes. The study investigates the usefulness and ease of use of the Brightspace as the Learning Management System (LMS) as perceived by the students, teachers, and administrators. It reveals that most of the students find Brightspace as a useful learning management system that helps them improve their academic performance, increase their productivity, and enables them to accomplish their tasks more quickly, thereby enhancing their effectiveness as students. Majority of the teacher respondents find Brightspace as a very useful tool in online teaching that helps them improve their teaching performance, increase their productivity, and enables them to accomplish their tasks more quickly, thereby enhancing their effectiveness as teachers. In the case of the administration, majority of the respondents find Brightspace as a useful instructional supervision system that helps them improve their supervisory performance, increase their productivity, and enables them to accomplish their tasks more quickly, thereby enhancing their effectiveness as administrators. In terms of perceived ease of use, majority of the respondents across all groups of respondents claim that their interaction with Brightspace is clear and understandable as it was easy for them to become skillful in using it and they find it easy to get Brightspace do what they want to do. Guided by the Technology Acceptance Model framework, the continued subscription to Brightspace as the learning management system is therefore put forward.
