This study was conducted to help mothers overcome the difficulties associated with the sleeping patterns of infants and to help put infants to sleep. To do this, the motion that a mother makes, rocking and swinging her infant, was modelled, and a cradle was designed to swing based on this model. When the infant cries for attention, it is detected by the microphone in the cradle, and it will start swinging the cradle, spinning the toys, and playing soft music. If that does not stop the cries of the infant, the notification system will be activated. The buzzer will act as a notification for the infants or the caretaker. If they are not in their room, the GSM module will send a message to parents/caretakers to notify them the situation. The Android application will also be able to view the infant’s situation through live streaming and to override the system and apply actions remotely, thus applying the Internet of Things on the cradle.
