CHARACTERIZING THE ENVIRONMENT: INPUT TO IDENTIFYING ITS INFLUENCE TO MATHEMATICS ANXIETY

Abstract:

Parental engagement allows schools to enhance current school programs by including them into the educational process. Teachers' roles, characteristics, and instructional strategies all play an essential influence in determining the tone of the teaching-learning process. The school atmosphere appears to be an important motivator that may make or break the teaching and learning process. As a result, these external environmental elements are seen to be advantageous to one's educational progress. As a result, they were described in this study. The findings might be useful in determining its potential impact on mathematics anxiety among college students. This quantitative-descriptive study used a validated and reliability tested survey questionnaire on 340 students at a state university. The findings found that both male and female students felt their parents were engaged in their studies -their contribution is only marginally important in achieving educational achievement. Instructors were also expected to employ novel ideas and instructional procedures that would ensure student learning. Meanwhile, the school provides a welcoming environment for teaching and learning. These external environment elements may indicate a pleasant atmosphere, which may assist learners overcome or reduce mathematics fear.
