Abstract:

One indicator of excellent education is the performance of teacher education graduates on the Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) licensure examination. The licensure examination, in particular, ensures that students have acquired the requisite information, abilities, and attitudes in their relevant field. Through descriptive research, this study investigated the performance of Quirino State University (QSU) - Diffun campus Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd) graduates in the licensing examination from 2014 to 2018. The survey specifically assessed scores for both general education and professional education. Furthermore, compare the graduates' performance scores across component areas as well as testing years to evaluate their strengths and shortcomings. The analysis of LET performance found that the graduates performed "below passing mark" in the licensure examination. For the majority of the testing years, LET takers performed better in Professional Education than in General Education. Furthermore, the graduates excelled in General Education and Professional Education in 2017 and 2015, respectively. When graduates in General Education were categorized by graduation year and testing year, significant disparities in performance evaluations were seen. Interventions to reinforce and improve LET performance were proposed. Similarly, doing research on the determinants of LET performance is advised for future studies.
