Danesh Bagga | Virgillio Jay Relova | Jerome Renee Alvarez

Abstract:

The study determined the market potential of Malunggay Churros which will be available in Churchurritos Café in Pila, (Poblacion) Laguna. The main product is innovative as it comes with a twist of malunggay that will produce health benefits to the customers. It will be served in a good quality packaging if taken out and served fresh or newly cooked when consumed in the café. The café will also offer heavy meals, pasta, burgers, and sandwiches. Combo meals will also be considered to give the customers a variety of taste that is affordable. Beverages will complement the main products. The proposed business will be established near the town plaza beside the church, municipal hall and the ancestral houses. The proponents saw the possibility of the locale as a tourist attraction because of Pila’s heritage houses and the newly announced San Antonio Parish Church as a National Heritage. Customers will come to Pila to see and experience the life of the pre-Hispanic era here in the Philippines. Students go around this area to visit the church, bond with friends and to find a place to eat or to meet. The researcher’s long-term plan was to make a franchising company in the future which will provide jobs to the local people of the town. The total projected cost for the business was ®1,500,000.00 to be equally shared by the researchers as business partners. Based on the financial analysis, its payback period takes only 1.12 years. The researchers recommended cost-cutting the raw materials and finding a more effective supplier; establishing a corporate social responsibility in the future; marketing other food variants; and innovating more kinds of healthy churros and flavors for the customers.
