This study designed an additional wastewater treatment plant, specifically for the chemical wastes being produced in the cleaning area of Oerlikon Balzers Coating Philippines, Inc. Through scheduled visits, interview, consultations, internet and library research, the proponents were able to gather sufficient data and information to come up with the best design of the wastewater treatment plant for Oerlikon Balzers. The researchers formulated three alternative solutions to treat the chemical wastes. The first alternative was a design and installation of wastewater treatment with sludge reservoir before disposal to drainage system. The second alternative solution was a design and installation of wastewater treatment with sludge reservoir and pH neutralizer before disposal to drainage system. The third alternative solution was a design and installation of wastewater treatment through heating and evaporating method. Design calculations, schematic diagrams, and economic study for each alternative were discussed and provided. Among these alternative solutions, the proponents recommended the design and installation of wastewater treatment with sludge reservoir and pH neutralizer before disposal to the drainage system as the best alternative solution since it provides a better usage of the proposed facility.
