Abstract:

This study highlights the experiences of eight scholars who were given the opportunity to pursue tertiary education by a community extension office of a private higher education institution. The study was conducted three (3) years after the graduation of the eight from local and state colleges and universities. The phenomenological method was used to highlight the experiences of the scholars before and during their studies and after graduation. The results of the study showed that transformation in the lives of the scholars was evident in their lives. The scholars’ stories speak of personal empowerment and triumph over adversities.
