Rio Calamohoy | Maylin M Blancia

Abstract:

This study aimed to assess the uphill teachers in their use of Modular-Digital Modality in the New normal scheme of our education during this crisis that the world is facing. The purpose of the study is to explore the experiences of uphill teachers on the modular-digital modality. Through their experiences and feelings, we generate new knowledge for everyone who would understand the journey of teachers in this time of pandemic in the continuity of learning and extend support when needed. The data were gathered to examine and give meaningful ideas to generate more useful knowledge that would have an impact on the professional life of teachers in the delivery of quality education to our future generation. And this study yielded the following result: The themes that emerged the following: Struggle and Adjustment; Lack of resources; Difficulty in the assessment of progress. Future Directions. At the same time, the core themes are found essential to the teachers’ lived experiences in the implementation of distance learning modality in the new normal. Teachers should formulate appropriate plans and implement adequate strategies to meet the demands of the teaching and learning process in the new normal. They should have a growth mindset towards the situation, embrace changes, and explore possibilities by getting out of their comfort zones. The higher offices and school authorities may work with the teachers in addressing the challenges they face as they migrate to the new normal teaching practices. Necessary resources and relevant training should be provided among teachers to successfully deliver quality education.
