Dhelmar C Campomanes | Ronaldo L. Seras

Abstract:

This study aimed to expose the relationship between modular modality and the behavior of learners of elementary schools in Buhangin District, Davao City. It utilized the quantitative method, specifically the descriptive-correlational design. One hundred school parents whose learners used the modular learning modality were the respondents of the study and were selected through a purposive sampling technique. One survey instrument was utilized to gather data from the respondents. Mean, Weighted Mean, Standard Deviation, Person-r and Multiple Linear Regression were the statistical tools employed. The overall mean of the extent of the modular modality of learners is described as high. Both indicators of competency-based and content-based learning are described as high. Meanwhile, the overall mean of the level of behavior of learners is described as high. Both indicator's study habits and literacy skills gained a mean score that is described as high. Further, the relationship between modular modality and the behavior of learners of elementary schools posted a significant relationship. And finally, in the domains of modular learning modality that significantly influence learning behavior, for every increase in the competency, there is an additional increase in the behavior, whereas, for every increase in the content, there is a point added to the behavior plus a constant value. Thus, the advantage of allowing their learners to learn on their own with the use of this module which is content and competency-based.
