STAKEHOLDERS PARTICIPATION IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF SCHOOL-BASED MANAGEMENT IN NEW NORMAL: TEACHERS IN FOCUS

Abstract:
The primary objective of this study was to investigate the issues and challenges the school faces regarding the stakeholders’ participation in their school-based management during the time of the pandemic. This study employed a phenomenological research design which aims to determine the experiences and perceptions of the participants. The respondents of the study were ten teachers from the schools of Malita North District,
Division of Davao Occidental. Respondents were randomly picked, and most of them were already in the service for three years and up. The respondents vary from Teacher 1 to Master Teacher 1, and each with different experiences in the implementation of school-based management during this time pandemic. Three themes were drawn in each of the phenomena in the conceptual framework of this study, on the first phenomenon is the experiences of the school in the implementation of school-based management in terms of
stakeholders’ participation in the new normal setup. The second phenomenon is the ways in which the school copes with the challenges and, lastly, in the insights gained from the experiences. The results implied that the school must expect a richer and more diverse interaction and participation of stakeholders in school-based management in the new normal because of the application of technology in reaching them.
