Development, Validation and Acceptability of Modular Teaching Evaluation Tool for Teachers (MTETT)

Discipline: Education

Abstract:

The formal process that a school uses to review and rate teachers' effectiveness in the classroom is referred to as teacher evaluation. However, in the New Normal, face-to-face instruction is prohibited, and teacher evaluation takes place online. However, not all teachers are involved in Online Distance Learning, and a number of teachers are under Modular, so there is a need to develop a tool to evaluate the performance of teachers who are engaged in the Modular Learning Modality. The researcher developed a Modular Teaching Evaluation Tool for Teachers (MTETT) and have it evaluated by one (1) principal and six (6) Master Teachers in the Division of Rizal based on the Clearness of Criteria and Presentation. Both Clearness of Criteria and Presentation variables got a mean of 4 verbally interpreted as Very Satisfactory and Very Acceptable, and the evaluators' recommendations were nearly identical. They want to pilot test the MTETT with other schools. Furthermore, because there is no prescribed evaluation tool for teachers engaged in the Modular Learning Modality, the tool can be submitted to the Division for evaluation and possible implementation once evaluated. The school principal and master teachers have the same evaluation on having the MTETT be used and shared with other schools for pilot testing.
