Abstract:

Water bodies primarily serve as channels for aquaculture, transportation, hydropower and water supply industries. As a result, competitions among water users become significant. The worse condition of water progressed due to number of pollutants being streamed directly to the body, thereby leaving an impact to the diversity of the marine ecosystem. This research was conducted to determine the water quality status of Laguna Lake and its tributaries including Cabuyao River. With the evolution of technology, water quality can be greatly improved using Internet of Things (IOT) system. Using different sensors, this system will collect various parameters from water, such as pH level, turbidity, total dissolved solids (TDS), water temperature, air temperature and humidity of the water can be measured. The data gathered by each sensor through the buoys are transmitted to the main system via Long Range Wide Area Network Technology (LoRaWAN). This design project mainly stresses the significance of water quality to the public, water bodies and marine species. The device is powered by a solar panel that recharges the lithium- ion battery and evaluated the data collected and displayed on a webpage accessible by the end-users through mobile phones, tablets and computers connected to the internet.
