Knowledge Management in Health Care Organizations

Gladys Entico

Abstract:

Organizations generate vast amount of data and information that should be effectively managed to help the users identify and locate the information required in a specific situation. This study discusses the knowledge management programs in the selected tertiary hospitals of the Philippines. Overall practice of KM in the country has been slow. Since it’s considered to be a new paradigm, majority of organizations are still grappling with its relevant concepts and practice methodologies. Development of KM within the Philippines will be helped by the multi-disciplinary and collaborative nature that exist among the academic, government, and private sectors.
