Level of Awareness Towards Antibiotic Resistance Among Pharmacy Students

Abstract:

This study was conducted to ascertain the level of awareness of pharmacy students towards antibiotic resistance. It specifically answered the questions: 1. What is the level of awareness towards antibiotic resistance among Pharmacy students in terms of? 1.1 Knowledge, 1.2 Attitude and 1.3 Practices. 2. Is there a significant difference on the level of awareness towards antibiotic resistance among pharmacy students when grouped according to demographic profile? Weighted mean was used to ascertain level of awareness of the students of the pharmacy program of Universidad de Zamboanga towards antibiotic resistance in terms of Knowledge, Attitude and Practices. T-test and Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) was used to determine the significant difference on the level of awareness towards antibiotic resistance of the pharmacy program of Universidad de Zamboanga when grouped according to demographic profile. The results show that the level of awareness of pharmacy students towards antibiotic resistance has a graded mean of response of 3.33. It means that the level of awareness of pharmacy students towards antibiotic resistance is in agreeable level. The findings also suggests that there is no significant difference in the level of awareness of respondents when sex, age, year level, ethnicity and socio-economic status were considered.
