“Recognizing the ANIMO of Filipino Psychology:” Ang Pagpunla ng Sikolohiyang Pilipino Mula sa Unibersidad ng Pilipinas Patungong De La Salle University Bilang Pangalawang Sentro ng Sikolohiyang Pilipino

Abstract:

Mahigit limang dekada nang umiiral ang intelektwal na kilusang Sikolohiyang Pilipino (SP) na nagbunga ng iba’t ibang interdisiplinaryong pananaliksik ng mga dalubhasa at iskolar sa Pilipinas. Kasalukuyang itinuturing na pangunahing sentro ng SP ang Unibersidad ng Pilipinas (UP), ang akademikong institusyon na humubog sa mga nangunang tagapagsulong nito, na pinangunahan ni Virgilio Enriquez (1942-1994) noong bumalik sa Pilipinas mula sa pag-aaral sa Amerika. Para mabigyang-kasagutan ang pangunahing suliranin sa kung paano maituturing bilang pangalawang sentro ng SP ang Pamantasang De La Salle-Maynila (DLSU), kinapanayam ng mga mananaliksik ang mga tanyag na mag-aaral at iskolar ng SP na ginabayan ng kasaysayang pasalita. Nahahati ang papel sa mga sumusunod na subseksyon: 1) ang kasaysayan at konteksto ng Sikolohiya sa Pilipinas; 2) ang iba’t ibang kanluraning tradisyon ng Sikolohiya sa mga pamantasan sa Pilipinas; 3) ang UP bilang unang sentro ng SP; 4) ang pagpunla ng SP sa DLSU at ang DLSU bilang pangalawang sentro ng SP ; at 5) ang paglalagom at kongklusyon.
