Abstract:

Due to errands and other reasons, owners frequently ignore their pets, which may eventually result in abandonment. According to PAWS (2019), 12 million stray animals live in the Philippines. If no one cares for people's pets or doesn't trust others, this can lead to pet neglect and poor animal welfare. It can be challenging to provide pet care if there is no easy access to pet care services. For instance, finding a pet sitter and prospective adopters could be difficult. To solve this problem, this study aims to develop a multifunctional mobile application that provides pet care services to pet owners and potential pet adopters to lessen the risk of pet abandonment or neglect. Through surveys done by the researchers, they found what pet care services are most desired by pet owners. Services such as pet boarding, pet sitting, pet grooming, and adoption are preferred and will be provided in the application. The target audiences will be offered access to pet care services through this. They can reduce pet care neglect and provide a platform of adoptable stray animals further to decrease the number of stray animals in the Philippines.
