Goals-Based Assessment of the DREAMS Program of San Pablo Colleges

Abstract:

ThisÊ studyÊ assessedÊ theÊ effectivenessÊ ofÊ theÊ communityÊ extensionÊ programÊ inÊ providingÊ earlyÊ childhoodÊ educationÊ andÊ empowermentÊ toÊ disadvantagedÊ membersÊ ofÊ theÊ community.Ê TheÊ findingsÊ indicateÊ aÊ generallyÊ positiveÊ perceptionÊ ofÊ theÊprogram,ÊwithÊhighÊratingsÊforÊseveralÊprogramÊgoals,ÊdemonstratingÊitsÊsuccess. ÊHowever,ÊareasÊforÊimprovementÊwereÊidentified,ÊparticularlyÊinÊcommunicationÊ andÊ awarenessÊ efforts,Ê whichÊ couldÊ enhanceÊ familiarityÊ withÊ theÊ DREAMSÊ Program.Ê StakeholdersÊ highlyÊ rankedÊ componentsÊ likeÊ theÊ FreeÊ DayÊ CareÊ Program, ÊHealthÊTeaching,ÊandÊMedicalÊMissions,ÊhighlightingÊtheirÊimportanceÊandÊ immediateÊ relevance.Ê TheÊ studyÊ recommendsÊ prioritizingÊ theseÊ successfulÊ areasÊ whileÊ addressingÊ challengesÊ toÊ furtherÊ enhanceÊ theÊ program'sÊ impact.Ê AnÊ actionÊ plan,Ê titledÊ "EnhancingÊ theÊ ImpactÊ andÊ EffectivenessÊ ofÊ theÊ DREAMSÊ Program,"Ê wasÊdevelopedÊtoÊguideÊtheseÊimprovements.ÊRegularÊreassessmentÊandÊstakeholderÊ engagementÊ willÊ beÊ keyÊ toÊ maintainingÊ theÊ program'sÊ responsivenessÊ toÊ communityÊneeds.
