Discipline: Education

Abstract:

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate an Experiential Learning Activities Guidebook in Araling Panlipunan 10 as an enrichment material and utilized the design and develop research method. It covers three (3) most essential learning competencies from the 2nd quarter of the subject that the researchers were able to facilitate within three weeks. Through purposive sampling, the respondents of the study were determined to be the thirty-four (34) learners from Grade 10 – Florante of Laguna College and Business and Arts taught by the researcher. The student respondents underwent the pretest and posttest of the developed guidebook. Validators of this study were 11 Araling Panlipunan or Social Studies secondary teachers from Colegio de Los Baños, one Content Expert (College teacher, Development Communication major) from Colegio de Los Baños, one Education Program Specialist II in SDO Tanuan City, and one Social Science coordinator from Colegio de Los Baños. Using the four-point Likert Scale, simple mean, and t-test for independent samples, the findings revealed that the developed and validated Experiential Learning Activities Guidebook in Araling Panlipunan 10 based on the assessments of the validators in terms of objectives, directions, topics, and practical exercises was highly valid. On the other hand, the level of acceptability of the developed and Experiential Learning Activities Handbook in Araling Panlipunan 10 based on the assessments of the validators in terms of clarity, usefulness, presentation, and suitability was highly acceptable. There was a significant difference in the academic performance level of the learners comparing the mean scores of the learners during the pretest and posttest. It can be established that the developed and validated enrichment material in Araling Panlipunan 10 improves the learning acquisition and attainment of most essential learning competencies of Grade 10 learners based on the difference in their performance in the pretest and posttest.
