Abstract:
The focus of this study was to develop Kagan Structures-Inspired Activity
Sheets in English 4. This study followed the design and development research method.
The respondents of the study used Total Population Sampling since there was only one
section of Grade 4, which mean that all 32 pupils underwent the pretest and posttest.
The interraters of this study were nine (9) elementary English teachers from Laguna
College of Business and Arts and six (6) English teachers from Bubuyan Elementary
School.
Using the four-point Likert Scale, simple mean, and t-test for independent samples, the
findings revealed that the developed Kagan Structures-inspired Activity sheets in English
4, based on the assessment validators in terms of objectives, directions, topics, and
practical exercises, were highly validated with the computed mean of 3.90. The level of
acceptability of the developed and validated Kagan Structures-inspired Activity Sheets
in English 4, based on the assessments of the validators in terms of clarity, usefulness,
presentation, and suitability, were highly acceptable with the computed mean of 3.88.
There was a significant difference in the academic performance of the Grade 4 pupils
based on the results of their pretest and posttest scores. Evidently, the Kagan structureinspired activity sheets enchanced the academic performance of the pupils in English 4.
