Contribution of College Assistance for Relevant Education System (CARES) Scholarship to the Professional and Socio-Economic Development of La Castelleños

Abstract:
This study investigated the contribution of College Assistance for Relevant Education System (CARES) Scholarship
to the professional and Socio-Economic Development of La Castellanos. The researcher selected the CARES
beneficiaries as the subject-respondents of the study. The researcher employed a qualitative research design. The data
were gathered through an in-depth interview with the CARES scholars. The data gathering instrument used in the
study is a self-made survey questionnaire that underwent face and content validation with the experts in the field. The
results revealed that CARES Scholarship program developed its scholars professionally by improved their selfconfidence, social skills dealing with other people, perspective in life and critical and analytical skills in solving
problems, leadership skills character Furthermore, CARES scholarship program also improved the economic living
condition of its beneficiaries in which they are able to manage their budget because of the financial assistance given
by the program, through the program the scholars were able to finish their studies and land a job.
