The development of competitiveness at Selayar Regency South Sulawesi Province of Indonesia hinges on the identification of superior and high potential farm commodities through experimental methods. The study established the trend of economic structures and non-base factors. The descriptive method of research was used involving primary and secondary data analyzed through Domestic Resources Cost analysis approach. Results showed that the sector basis identified is < Q >1 which has superior commodity of corn, shrimp, seaweed, crops, nutmeg, walnuts, melinjo and cashew nuts. The study concludes that these farm commodities have good prospects for the needs of the domestic and export orientation. There is a need to create economic structures toward investments in Selayar district.
