Computer Projector Management System

Abstract:

Security is important in most facilities. A secure facility requires keeping track of the borrower and the device borrowed within the office. The Information Technology Education program of the University of the Immaculate Conception has, under its custody, three multimedia projectors which are used for academic purposes. At present the ITE program monitors the borrowing of projectors through manual process by filling up a booking form which is sometimes not properly done and may cause problems for the in-charge with regards to tracing the borrower of the equipment. A difficulty of monitoring the devices and the borrowers was observed by the proponents, thus this lead the proponents to develop the Computer Projector Management System. Using the Linear Sequential model, the Computer Projector Management System was developed to simplify and provide security to the device through the use of a cabinet with an electronic lock system. It eliminates the manual reservation, tracks the borrowers, lessens the possibility of misplaced and unreturned projectors and generates reports. Through system testing, the proponents were able to show a mechanism in managing the borrowing and reservation. The proponents recommend the system to be implemented in the ITE program to improve the existing system being employed and to provide automatic detection of the identification of the projectors when taken from the cabinet.
