Letranista Sa Gitna Ng Krisis Pang-Ekonomiya: A Perception Study On The Effect Of The Global Economic Crisis On Educational Cost

Abstract:

In the context of the global economic crisis, how can Letran Calamba help address the economic difficulty of its constituents? Given that as a premise, this research adopted the survey method to gauge respondents’ perception of the effects of the global economic crisis on educational cost. Data were quantitatively and descriptively analyzed. Interpretation, too, moved to qualitative mode. The interpretive richness of data lent credence to academic recommendations that encompass research agenda and policy formulation. Results revealed that the global economic crisis has no evident effect yet where tuition and miscellaneous fees spending are concerned. However, responses gave impression that education, despite economic burden, remains a priority among student- and parent-respondents. Despite this, Letran must not be complacent but instead listen to parents’ suggestions echoing need for a more reasonable tuition fee rate and payment scheme.
