Buttonhole Slotter for the Garments Technology Shops

Abstract:

This study was aimed to design, fabricate and assess the performance of a Button Slotter for the Garments Technology Shops of the Main Campus of Bohol Island State University in Tagbilaran City in the year 2011. Specifically, it sought to answer the questions on the machine design, bill of materials, parts and functions and procedure in assembly and operation. Second, it sought to determine the performance of the buttonhole slotter. Third, it also determined the significant difference between the conventional way of making buttonhole and the buttonhole slotter. Included in the study is a proposed action plan in the utilization of the device. The researchers used the experimental method and used the t-test to determine the difference in the performance of the control and the experimental setup. The results indicated that the buttonhole slotter has a very good performance, implying that the respondents were very satisfied by it and that there is a significant difference between the conventional way of making buttonholes and the buttonhole slotter in terms of their performance. The researchers concluded that the buttonhole slotter has a very good performance better than the conventional way. Thus, the device is suitable for implementation as a replacement of the existing conventional way.
