Tinatalakay sa papel na ito ang karanasan ng indibidwal na dumaraan sa isang yugto ng pagunlad sa buhay, ang paglalabintaunin. Ang paglalarawan sa karanasan ng paglalabintaunin ay nakaugat sa kulturang Filipino tulad ng pagbabarkada at panliligaw. Ang paglalahad ng paksa ay ayon sa mga metapora na nagpapahiwatig ng ilang umiiral na kaisipan sa loob ng kultura upang talakayin ang karanasan ng lalabintaunin. Ilan sa mga tinatalakay tungkol sa lalabintaunin sa papel na ito ay iyong mga kaugnay lamang ng kanyang pag-unlad sa pagbubuo ng mga relasyon sa mga aspektong sekswal at sosyo-emosyonal. Halaw ang mga katibayan sa mga isinagawang pananaliksik sa sikolohiya ng ilang estudyante ng kursong batsilyer sa sining sa larangan ng sikolohiya sa Pamantasang De La Salle. Tampok sa artikulong ito ang mga pag-aaral na nasa wikang Filipino at tungkol mismo sa karanasan sa buhay-tin-edyer na pumukaw sa interes ng mga lalabintauning nasa kolehiyo.

The experiences of individuals in a developmental life stage called adolescece are presented in this paper. The descriptions here of Filipino adolescent experiences are rooted in Philippine culture such as pagbabarkada (friendship formation) and panliligaw (romantic relationship). The presentation of themes is based on metaphors that illustrate indigenous thoughts on how individuals experience adolescence or paglalabintaunin in a given cultural context. Some of the ideas discussed in this paper about the Filipino adolescent pertain to personality and social development factors such as sexual and socio-emotional relationships. Evidences are derived from the researches conducted by some psychology students for their theses in order to complete the requirements for a baccalaureate degree in arts, major in psychology at De La Salle University. The selected studies are those written in Filipino and are about the experiences of Filipino teenagers, which attracted the interests of student-researchers.
