Ang mga Lalaki ni Mabanglo o Ang Depinisyon at Redepinisyon ng Makatang Babae sa Lalaki

Abstract:

Layunin ng papel na ito na pag-aralan ang pagtula ng ilang kinikilalang feministang makata sa Pilipinas. Gamit ang ilang kilalang tula ng mga makatang sina Ruth Elynia S. Mabanglo, Joi Barrios, Benilda S. Santos, Rebecca Añonuevo, Grace Monte de Ramos, Mila D. Aguilar, at Virginia Moreno, tinangka ng papel na ipakita na hindi lamang mga babae ang napalalaya ng feministang pagtula kundi maging ang mga lalaki. Para sa awtor, ang kasalukuyang sistemang patriyarkal ay umaapi sa lahat ng kasarian, bagama’t hindi sa magkatulad na antas. Intensyonal man o hindi, ang paglalantad ng mga feministang makata sa sistemang ito ay pagtanggal din sa mga pasaning iniatang sa mga lalaki.

This paper aims to study the poetry of some of the leading contemporary feminist poets in the Philippines today. Using selected well-known works of Ruth Elynia S. Mabanglo, Joi Barrios, Benilda S. Santos, Rebecca Añonuevo, Grace Monte de Ramos, Mila D. Aguilar, and Virginia Moreno, the paper aims to show that feminist poetry is not only for the emancipation of women but also of men. For the author, the patriarchal system oppresses both gender, although on different types and levels. Intended or not, the efforts of feminist poets to expose this system may also lead to the dissolution of the burdens given to men.
