Abstract:

The Philippine government’s commitment to globalization should have an impact on the country’s exports to other countries.  Such impact may be evident by the countries’ increasing exports to other countries.  Consequently, an increase in exports means more dollar reserves and more employment in the labor force as more natural resources are tapped by domestic manufacturers.  The presumption, however, is that local manufacturers are globally competitive not mainly on the comparative advantage of their export products but equally on other relevant factors. These factors may cover export promotion, export finance, resources which facilitate export marketing, accurate knowledge of the market overseas, among others.
