This study aimed to develop the Competency Standards for English teachers in the tertiary level in different educational institutions in Metro Manila during school year 2006-2007.
There were 20 English teachers from different educational institutions in Metro Manila who were involved in this study. A survey questionnaire was developed by the researchers and administered to the expert faculty members of English subjects. Frequencies and percentages were used to determine what competencies needed by an English teacher.
