Abstract:

The purpose of this research was to examine the academic performance and Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) results of graduates from the Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSE), Bachelor of Elementary Education (BEEd), and Teacher Certificate Program at Universidad de Zamboanga from 2014-2018. Using a documentary analysis and Descriptive-correlational research design, the study sought to address three key problems: the academic performance of Teacher Education graduates and Teacher Certificate Program students, the licensure examination results of these graduates, and the correlation between academic performance and LET results. The study found that while respondents demonstrated a high level of academic performance (excellent), their performance in the LET was only rated as satisfactory (fair). Additionally, no significant relationship was found between academic performance and LET ratings for Teacher Education graduates and Teacher Certificate Program students. The study recommends interventions to enhance instruction and the implementation of pre-board examination review programs at the university, as well as further research on predictors of LET performance.
