Internationalization Strategies, Quality, and Student Satisfaction in Chinese Universities

Wang Hao

Discipline: Education

Abstract:

This study investigated the relationship between internationalization strategies and student satisfaction in Chinese universities, focusing on both local and international students. The study used a descriptive research design and used 426 students from three schools in Shanghai, China. The research highlighted the importance of quality in planning, assurance, and control as essential elements that impact strategy formulation, implementation, evaluation, and modification. With globalization shaping educational practices, the findings suggested that tailored strategies based on demographic factors such as gender and nationality can enhance student satisfaction. The study also underscored the necessity of continuous improvement in internationalization processes to meet evolving student needs and maintain educational standards. Significant correlations were found between the quality of internalization efforts and satisfaction levels, indicating that robust strategic frameworks are crucial for fostering student engagement and achieving institutional success. There were significant differences in satisfaction between sex, age, and nationality, and a significant relationship between internationalization strategy, quality, and student satisfaction. Based on the results of the study, an enhanced internationalization plan was proposed.
