Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education in the Eyes of Grade Six Muslim Learners

Abstract:
The aim of this study was to describe and analyze the experiences of learners in Arabic Language and Islamic Values
Education. The study employed a phenomenological study approach using qualitative research methods to gain an indepth understanding of the challenges encountered by Grade 6 learners enrolled in Banisil Central Elementary School
for the Arabic Language and Islamic Values Education (ALIVE) during the school year 2022-2023. Given the
restricted participant pool, purposive sampling was employed. The study identified three overarching themes:
experiences, coping mechanisms, and insights. The challenges experienced by learners formulated five emergent
themes: remarkable experience, benefits, drawbacks, improvement, and satisfaction. The coping mechanisms utilized
by learners formulated two emergent themes: support from classmates, and encouragement from parents. The insights
gained by the learners in the study formed five emergent themes: religious personal development, faith and obedience,
engage learning commitment, realization, and valuing religious education.
