Abstract:

This descriptive study examines the classroom management challenges Grade 7 Araling Panlipunan teachers encounter when implementing the MATATAG Curriculum. Data were collected through a checklist survey completed by 21 teachers from 5 schools. The findings revealed consistent challenges in managing instructional time, delivering lessons effectively, conducting assessments, and maintaining student compliance. Teachers also reported difficulties in organizing classroom routines, executing instructional plans, and promoting positive classroom behavior, which affect both learning outcomes and the classroom atmosphere. To address these issues, teachers applied several strategies such as improving time management, refining teaching methods, adjusting evaluation tools, and encouraging active student participation through engaging activities. Based on the results, the study recommends implementing a capacity-building program titled "Improving Instructional Effectiveness and Teacher Preparedness in the Revised K– 10 Curriculum." This initiative aims to enhance teacher readiness and improve instructional performance to meet the demands of the MATATAG Curriculum.
